Cynthia Mittleider: Celebrating 20 Years as a RE/MAX Agent

Cynthia Mittleider has done it all and seen it all in her 25 year career. Her portfolio is diverse in the markets she’s persevered through, the types of transactions she’s conquered and the people she’s had the pleasure to work with. But there is one thing about Cynthia’s career that is not as diverse as you might think—given with her vast experience—and that’s the brand she’s aligned herself with for 20 years: RE/MAX. Cynthia Mittleider has called the RE/MAX Gold Folsom office “home” for the duration of her time with the RE/MAX brand and has no plans to call it quits anytime soon.

It’s not uncommon for real estate to be a second career for many agents; pivoting directions in search of something more relational and fulfilling. But that wasn’t the case for Cynthia—not in the slightest. She recalls being a young girl growing up in the Bay Area and being mesmerized by confident women wearing gold blazers, toting briefcases from showing to showing and building a seemingly glamorous career. The allure of it all captured her attention and set her sights on becoming a Realtor® herself. She even recently came across an old journal from her Sophomore year of high school where she wrote of her dreams to work in real estate! While most people’s high school job was working in a fast-food restaurant or babysitting, Cynthia was getting her feet wet as a leasing agent for a new apartment project. It’s safe to say that when Cynthia Mittleider sets her mind to something, she pursues it with full force and passion—a quality that has made her the outstanding agent she is today!

Cynthia’s career has been marked by countless awards and recognitions from RE/MAX Gold, with titles like Platinum Club, Agent of the Year and Lifetime Hall of Fame member. Not only has her production qualified her for these awards, but she achieved them all while playing an active role in her community organizations. Cynthia has served on the Board of Directors for organizations such as Women’s Council of Realtors, the Sacramento Association of Realtors and other leadership roles in the industry. Serving in these capacities has played an important role in Cynthia’s career because they promote one of her core values as a Realtor: Education.

“Education is the premise of everything I do.”

“My biggest piece of advice to anyone starting out or gaining momentum in the industry is to have the education to back you,” says Cynthia. “Find someone willing to invest in you. Join local organizations. Attend every training and class that’s offered and go after every opportunity to learn.” When it comes to education, Cynthia practices what she preaches, holding the following designations: Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR), Accredited Staging Professional (ASP), Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE), Certified Probate Real Estate Specialist (CPRES), Green Designation, Masters Certified Negotiation Expert (MCNE), Performance Management Network (PMN), Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES), Short Sale Foreclosure Representative (SFR) and of course, the REALTOR® designation.

Throughout her 20 years with RE/MAX Gold, one of Cynthia’s favorite moments was earning the Platinum Club title in 2016 and again in 2017. Not only was this a personal achievement, but a testament to why she’s been a believer in the RE/MAX network for so long.

“I love RE/MAX because of the brand recognition, but also because they represent experienced agents. There is something to be said about surrounding yourself with agents who are high quality and high achieving—it gives you an opportunity to rise to the occasion and set goals to strive for.”

As the industry shifts and technology becomes all the rage, Cynthia believes that the opportunity to go into an office each day plays a vital role in the success of an agent. “The Brick and Mortar office is so valuable. The camaraderie of working side by side with other agents, the enthusiasm of the office and the chance to ask questions in person. There is nothing like being able to walk across the hall and talk to other agents!”

Looking ahead to what the future holds, Cynthia simply wants to continue to be known by her integrity in the business. As someone who has sold over 500 homes with RE/MAX, she still wakes up each day grateful for the opportunity to creatively help people reach their dreams. “In this job, you have the privilege of working with generations of families. I’ve worked with clients who refer me to the parent and their kids,” she says.

“When you make it more than a transaction, it becomes a lifelong relationship.”

At RE/MAX Gold, we are privileged to work with the best of the best, like Cynthia Mittleider. We appreciate her dedication to providing high quality service to each of her clients and are grateful that she’s chosen to align herself with RE/MAX Gold for the past 20 years.
